One of the oddest stories I have ever read. It baffles my rating system, so I'm just going to skip the stars altogether on this one.
The characters are engaging and I instantly connected with Janet and her plight. It was also good at showing the emotional toll of the decisions both characters make. The writing style is easy to follow and draws you on page by page.
However, a major plot point resolves around a man who betrays his marriage vows and wants to take a mistress while he has a wife. Though nothing is graphic about it, I still didn't care for how large a topic it was in the plot. Sections one and two were engaging, but the last section felt hurried, and the resolution half-baked.
Content: married man and mistress; scattered profanity
