Cooper Kingsley is trying to get over a rejection, and the best way to do that is to get under somebody else, right? He's found the perfect distraction in Corinne O'Neil, only problem, she's his new assistant. But Cooper has a plan that will suit them both, sex with no strings attached. Perfect! However, what happens when those strings start to attach? Can they overcome their pasts? And what happens when secrets are discovered?

After listening to Dirty Little Secret and Dirty Little Promise, I was anxious for Cooper to get his happily ever after, Torrid Little Affair didn't disappoint. It's a sweeter story than the Dirty Little Duet and can be read as a standalone, although I'd recommend reading it after the duet for full enjoyment.
Kendall Ryan has done it! She's broken me. I thought this would be a cute fast read, instead I laughed, and I cried, and I was left feeling like I'd been put through the wringer. This book hit me with all the feels. It has so many moments that made you sit and think. I stayed up until 5am reading this book and then I only put it down because I couldn't stay awake any longer, I woke up and dived right back in. Kendall's writing is fantastic, I love how she's just pulls me into this world and holds me hostage, I'm still thinking about this book a couple of days later.

I thought I loved Gavin, and I do, but that is nothing compared to what I feel for Cooper. He is everything. I love him so much. He is sweet, he is sexy, he is funny, and he is charming. He is such a sweet guy that you can't help but swoon over. And his choice of pet name was perfection. ‘Little Dove' sigh. Corinne was awesome, I liked that she was quite sensitive but strong. She's sassy and sexy. She can definitely hold her own. I wanted to shout at her to tell Coop everything, because it's Coop, and we all know he'd understand, but I also understood her reasonings. She's the type of girl you wanna hang with.

The relationship between Cooper and Corinne was beautiful, what started as a little bit of fun soon turned into something more, even though that's not what either of them had wanted originally. The sexual encounters between this couple are set your kindle on fire, hot. You'll love how their sexual journey unfolds because it's not your typical romance sex, it's hot as anything but I think that's because of the build-up. The little things that this couple do together make it all the more perfect. When we find out Corinne's secret it makes everything fall into place, and her reactions to certain things all of a sudden make perfect sense, it was a great twist that worked really well.

I cannot wait to listen to the audiobook. Zachary Webber is the perfect choice for Cooper – plus, we've already heard him voice Coop in the previous two books, so, yes! Bring it on. Ava Erickson is just the most fantastic voice for Corinne, she has that sexy, and sassy performance nailed and I can't wait to hear this. Both ZWeb and Ava work wonders with the emotional aspects of a book and I think they're going to blow me away with this one.

If you haven't read or listened to Dirty Little Secret please back away slowly, this is a review for book 2, Dirty Little Promise, it may contain spoilers for book 1 since this is the conclusion of Emma and Gavin's story.

The end of Dirty Little Secret, left Emma in a difficult spot, she'd just uncovered some information about Gavin's past. Now she must decide whether to cut her loses and move on... maybe to his brother Cooper, or face Gavin and let him explain. But they don't just have that to contend with, somebody has it out for Emma, but who and why remain a mystery. Can they get over the attraction they share and have a meaningful conversation? Or will this be the end for them?

Kendall Ryan is quickly becoming a one-click author for me. Her books are sexy and have a fun and intriguing storyline. Her writing is very quick and smart, grabbing the reader's attention and hauling them into the story. The characters are smart and sexy, and funny. This book will have you swooning, and laughing, and maybe getting a little frustrated and sad. And then you'll swoon again and get hot under the collar. I listened to this book in one sitting, I just didn't want to put it down.

Gavin Kingsley, swoon! If you liked Gavin in book 1, you're going to fall head over heels for him in this book. Not only does he start opening up, but he does some of the sweetest things ever. His love for Emma is obvious and he's prepared to do what it takes to keep her safe.
Emma Bell is one of my favourite female characters that I've read this year. She's smart and sexy, and sassy. She doesn't take any crap, even though she's been through a bunch of it, she's still not prepared to lay down and take it. I love that about her.
I felt so bad for Cooper, but it had to happen, it is Emma and Gavin's story after all. I'm looking forward to reading about Cooper's exploits in Torrid Little Affair. It was nice to see more of Quinn and I felt we got a better feel for him and how he just wants to keep his family together.

I like how this story has progressed from book 1. Gavin's secret is finally out, and this book starts with them dealing with that and I liked that Emma didn't just take it. She's was her sassy self and couldn't just fall back into a routine with Gavin, she needed time to adjust and although he struggled with it, he also gave it to her. I really think Gavin's character progressed the most throughout this story when I think back to book 1 and the way he was and then the end of this book, wow, he really did develop as a person and that was wonderful to see. Watching someone that was broken get their HEA. The sex scenes are off the scale hot, I'm talking melt your earphones type temps. They were placed well within the story and made sense to it. I liked the intrigue with this book, although I had guessed early on who was responsible for all the horrible things happening, it didn't take away from the story and it was fun watching the characters figure it out.

Megan Tusing and Zachary Webber were fantastic. I loved their dual narration of this book. Their voices complement each other really well. Each character they both performed was distinct and the inflections and tones they used to convey the emotions the characters were going through was spot on, and gave depth to the character and performance. Megan and Zachary were the perfect choice for Emma and Gavin; Megan has the best voice to convey the sweet and sassiness of Emma. And Zachary performs the commanding but vulnerable aspect of Gavin brilliantly. The production was done well with no issues.

This review is going to be on the short side. So much happens that I feel you really need to experience all this goodness and all these twists and turns for yourself.

Normally at the beginning of a review, I do a small summary of the book, that is really hard to do with American Queen so much happens that it would be a disservice to try and sum it up in a couple of sentences. So, here's what I have to say, if you haven't read or listened to AQ yet, don't delay. It's a beautiful story of how one forbidden kiss can change a person's life. Sit back, grab an alcoholic beverage, some chocolate, and a pack of Kleenex and enjoy the wild ride... and make sure you have American Prince and American King ready to go!

This book will have you in a state of awe. The writing is captivating. It'll make you think things you've never thought. The sex is off the charts hot, absolutely steaming, melting your earphones scorching hot. You're not going to want to listen in a public place. This book tells the wonderful story of three people who fall in love. The ending will have you on the edge of your seat screaming WHY? And quickly downloading the next book, if you don't have it already.... don't give me that ‘I don't do cliffhangers' business, it's a trilogy, it's a given that you're going to get a cliffhanger. With that being said, WTAF? That ending! Holy S**t! I need to know what happens next. I don't know why it took me so long to dive into this book, but I'm hooked in the worse way possible. I'm in a total book hangover. Thankfully book 2, American Prince is already available on audio.
Ash, Greer, and Embry are the perfect combination, I adored them together. Ash is more dominant and the BDSM scenes were extremely well done. Embry is sweet and endearing. Greer is fantastic, I felt for her because she put a lot into her relationship with her cousin Abilene and she was just a bitch to her. I have a bad feeling about how things are going to play out about that.

Stephanie Rose performed this book beautifully. I wasn't sure how I'd enjoy the audiobook, a new narrator to me and a slew of voices but each one was unique and distinct. I look forward to listening to more from her. The production had no issues at all.
Side-note: If you don't believe in the love is love statement, this isn't the book for you. If you believe that a heart is only big enough to love one person at a time, this is not the book for you.

This is going to be short, I want you to experience this goodness for yourself and plus, I'm trying my hardest to keep everything spoiler free.

You've read/ listened to American Queen and American Prince already? Yes? Good! So, you know how AP ended, that was a jaw-dropping scene, right? All those revelations, poor Ash. And what is going to happen next? Gah! It was too much for me to bear, I couldn't possibly wait for the audiobook, I had to eyeball the book instead, yes, you read that right, I read a book... with my eyes gasp and it was so worth it!

Oh, my word! Just when I thought Sierra Simone couldn't improve on a story anymore, just when I thought she couldn't possibly add any more twists she goes and hits it out of left field. Her talent amazes me. If you loved American Queen and American Prince you will adore American King. The story comes to its conclusion so beautifully. It broke me, and it put me back together again. I cried, sobbed even, I laughed, I cheered. I think I experienced every emotion known to a human during this book, it was intense and worth every tear, and every penny.

Ash, Greer, and Embry continue to amaze me with their love. It is incredibly beautiful. The sex scenes are smoking hot, I'm talking melt your kindle type of hot. But they are also important to the storyline, they make perfect sense and cause quite a few swooning moments. Abilene continued to make me mad but also sad, she has issues that required help. Morgan and Merlin finally earned my approval. This book is filled with characters to love and to hate and to love to hate lol. I adored them all for different reasons.

Side-note: If you don't believe a heart is big enough to love more than one person and don't believe the message of love is love, this is not the book for you. Some scenes may be difficult to read, if you have any set triggers please give me a shout and I'll help you with details. Know that each scene has a purpose.

You've read/ listened to American Queen already? Yes? Good! So, you know how AQ ended, that cliffhanger was a jaw-dropping one, right? I was so pleased I had American Prince already queued up and ready to go. Of course, life meant I had to wait a day or two, which was tough because I had so many thoughts about AQ running around my head. Once I was able to dive in I was just a crazy person, I shouted at my audible app more than once.
There were several moments between Ash and Embry that melted my heart, I'm talking, I wanted to cry because they were so incredibly sweet. For all Ash's bravado and soldier/ President-ness, he really was a sweet man who knew the right thing to say to make a girl... and man swoon. This book contained some difficult moments for Greer and I have to say I thought they were handled beautifully and I understood her mindset.
Abilene continues to show herself as a horrible person, even more so in this book. She's a character you'll love to hate. I didn't particularly like Morgan, but she did grow on me. Merlin still makes me so mad, I just want to punch him and tell him to mind his own business. I enjoyed how this book is told from the POV of both Greer and Embry, you get more of an understanding of what Embry's thought processes are and why he does the things he does. Which was frustrating in book 1 but now make sense. With the added benefit of seeing his relationship with Ash.
I really liked the timeline shifts, from then and now. It gives a good understanding of the characters, what they've been through and why they do the things they do. The BDSM scenes are done incredibly well, giving you the thought process along with the action, it will make some other books look like amateurs and give you a good sense of what a relationship that involves it would be like. The sex scenes continue to be smoking hot, the scenes between Ash and Embry, oh my word! It will have you hot under the collar for sure, but also, swooning, in its beauty.
The ending will have you sat in awe, wondering what you can possibly do now. Although American King is available, it is not yet out on audio. I've actually caved in, the wait was too much, ok, so I only managed to go 12 hours, but I pulled up the Kindle app and I am now reading... with my eyes gasp because I wasn't ready to leave these characters behind, they will have this effect on you that just make it so hard not to sit and think about them. Wondering where the story can go, why Sierra is putting them through this and how much more they can take.
The narration was wonderful. Stephanie Rose continues to perform these characters and situations brilliantly, I really love how she chooses to voice them. Guy Locke is new to me and I really enjoyed his performance, especially of Embry. The production had no issues.

Side-note: If you don't believe a heart is big enough to love more than one person and don't believe the message of love is love, this is not the book for you. Some scenes may be difficult to read, if you have any set triggers please give me a shout and I'll help you with details. Know that each scene has a purpose.

I adored Bombshell, I could identify with aspects of that story more than any other from CD Reiss, so I was really looking forward to this one. Bodyguard is set in that same world and I loved it. Don't worry if you didn't read/ listen to Bombshell they're complete standalones, just set in the same world. Trust me, I don't use the ‘standalone' word lightly, I didn't gain anything from listening to Bombshell first, just a big smile when a couple of characters got a mention in passing. The story itself is sweet, with an edge. I loved that although this was a romantic story about Carter and Emily, it was also the story of friendship between Darlene and Emily. It was sweet and beautiful. I know I can't be the only person that finished this book and said to themselves, ‘I want Darlene's story' and if I was, then, I think I need to start a movement or something because I loved that girl!

CD Reiss always writes the best characters, as stated above, however, Emily and Carter are something special. I loved Emily, she had been through a lot, but she was still fighting. She didn't shy away and close herself off. Her friendship with Darlene was lovely, so often the ‘friend' is backstabby but that is not the case here, it was beautiful. As the book progressed you see Emily becoming more and more at ease and she changes, and that was beautiful to witness. Carter is so incredibly swoon-worthy, it's not even funny. I loved him. He was strong and sweet. Commanding, and gentle. His understanding of what Emily had been through and what she needed gave him such an edge of perfection, sure he made a few mistakes, but he had the best intentions and they made him real.
I really enjoyed the progression of the relationship between Carter and Emily. It was like a rollercoaster with so many ups and downs. But those ups and downs made sense, it wasn't conflict for conflict's sake. It made sense to the story and to these characters because they had other things that they had to consider, not just how they felt. Carter had a lot on his plate with his commitment to his job, to his family and to Emily, it was a constant ache that he took seriously, he was stretched so thin, but he made it work. He was still able to be a nice person and give his all to everyone he cared about. The sexy times between Emily and Carter were melt your headphones hot, they were placed well in the story and made perfect sense to the storyline and the characters.
Phin, oh my word, this child stole my heart early on. I just wanted to love him and make him happy. Fist-pump the size of my heart. Sigh, one of the sweetest moments ever.

Another fantastic dual narration. I loved the combination of CJ Bloom and Joe Arden, their voices complemented each other really well. I thought CJ Bloom was wonderful as Emily and conveyed her frustrations with her situation incredibly well. She was smart and sassy and that was performed brilliantly. My only issue was that Phin sounded younger than he was. Joe Arden was the perfect choice for Carter, he performed the sweet but commanding man so beautifully, especially the scenes with Phin. The emotion was conveyed beautifully. My heart may have melted a little. I can't even think about those sexy times, Joe was on fire. The production was done well, I really enjoyed the music at the beginning and end of the book, it set the theme and mood of the story. I only noticed one tiny issue in chapter 47, a word is missing. It should be ‘long time' but the long trails off and leads into the next sentence. It's nothing major and doesn't take away from the story but it's enough to make you pause and think you missed something.

This is the first Jessica Hawkins book I've read/ listened to. I have a couple but as of yet, haven't listened to them. I'm going to have to rectify that pronto. This book gave me all the feels... and I do mean all. So many different emotions with this story. It was beautiful, and it was heart-breaking, and it is only the beginning. Jessica gutted me in the most perfect of ways. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive two more books but I'm also looking forward to it. This is one of my favourite books of 2017, I listened to it in one sitting, I just couldn't pull myself away, I was so invested in this story and these characters.

I've not read a lot of forbidden romances, so I wasn't quite sure how this story was going to play out. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story, it didn't feel rushed or too slow, it felt like everything was happening as and when it should. The story needed to be told and Jessica's writing is incredibly engaging and on point that it immerses you into the story and the lives of these characters. I am so tempted to eyeball the remaining two books in the series but I'm going to hold off for the audio because this audiobook was something special and I have a feeling the next two will be as well and it'll be worth the wait.

The characters in this book were enchanting. I adored Lake, she was sweet and innocent and a little naïve but that just made her all the more appealing. The way her character developed and starting questioning things that were a given in her life. It was beautiful. Her feelings for Manning started innocent enough, but seeing the change in her, as her feeling developed was something that I think many women are going to be able to relate to.
Manning, sigh, I just loved him so much. He was so endearing. The way he was with both Lake and Tiffany, he gave them both something they were lacking. He didn't take any crap, and obviously cared about them both a great deal and it showed. His past is heart-breaking, and I couldn't help but shed a tear for him.
Throughout the story my opinion on Tiffany kept changing, it ranged from thinking she was a horrible person, to feeling sorry for her, and back to disliking her. It was also tough, due to how she was really a means to an end. Manning saw in her things that I wasn't able to until they were obvious. I did love how Manning put her in her place in regards to Lake. The way he was helping her to become a better person.

The progression of the relationship between Manning and Lake was beautiful to watch unfold. The way Manning's feeling developed and how he fought it, and in turn, how Lake's feelings developed, and she tried everything not to fight it. They were on opposite sides, but it worked. The touch of forbidden gave it an air of angst that I wasn't expecting, and it worked perfectly.
The meeting between Lake and Manning was sweet yet awkward. Lake is young and naive. Manning is older and gruff. Together they made such a cute couple, even though they shouldn't have. I was rooting for Lake throughout, I cannot wait to see where their story goes next.

This dual narration was wonderful. I've listened to many audiobooks narrated by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber – both together and separate, however, I think this might be my favourite. It was so beautifully performed, I even raved to my husband who wasn't interested but he let me go on about it for 20 mins lol. Andi Arndt is fabulous. I wasn't sure what to expect with Lake only being 16 but she pulls it off perfectly. It's incredibly believable. Zachary Webber was the perfect choice for Manning. He is wonderful at delivering a sweet but gruff performance. The way they both conveyed the emotions the characters were experiencing was stunning. The whole audiobook was a riveting experience and I cannot wait for books two and three to do it all over again. The production was fantastic with no issues.

I've had this book sat on my TBR/TBL for a while now and finally decided to dive in. Especially since I loved Hollywood Scandal so much. I wasn't disappointed. Louise Bay writes characters and situations that you can't help but get lost in. I liked that this book wasn't a straight cut trope, it had elements from different ones. An office romance, a single father, enemies to lovers. It combined them all to make a fun and interesting story. Her writing is smooth and engaging. It draws the listener into the story and holds their attention until the last moment. I listened to this book in one sitting.

These were such great characters. The supporting characters too. I loved Grace, Violet, Scarlet and especially Amanda. Max was incredibly endearing with Amanda, it was sweet the way he was with her as opposed to at the office. The change in him was so stark and I think it gave a whole new level to his character. Harper was lovely, I really liked her, she had some issues and I felt for her, her father had really done a number on her and it affected her relationships with men. I loved how that played out through the book. Amanda was such a sweet girl who just wanted her dad to be happy, and to have a little sister.

I enjoyed the progression of the relationship between Max and Harper, it went from dislike to hot sex, to love. It was fun to be able to join them on the wild ride of their relationship and experience the changes. The sex scenes were scorching and will most definitely melt your headphones. I liked that although there was a little conflict it wasn't drawn out and they both knew what they wanted and were prepared to fight for it. I really liked how well Max got along with his ex and the way that relationship was portrayed in the story.

I don't think there is a character Andi Arndt can't deliver a fantastic performance with. Harper Jayne was no different. The tones and inflections she uses to differentiate between emotions for this character was perfection and heartfelt. Her male voices are always spot on too. I think this is the first time I've heard Sebastian York perform a single dad, oh my days! If you thought his voice was panty-melting before, you've heard nothing yet. The shopping scene was probably my favourite, it was so sweet and endearing. And you will just love when he starts in on the dirty talk. He was the perfect choice for Max King, sweet and gruff. This dual performance was fantastic, I always love listening to this duo. The production was great with no issues.

Just when I think Lauren Blakely can't write anything more entertaining than the book before, she comes out with another amazing book. Her writing is so easy to get lost in, she builds a world for you to dive into and that you never want to leave. I wanted to go hang out with Cooper and Violet. Lauren's writing always hits me with all the feels, I laughed, man, so many laughs in this book. I also shed a few tears... I couldn't help it. It had sweet moments too. I just can't believe it took me so long to finally get my ears on this one. Note to self: Don't make LB's characters wait.

This book is fantastic! It's a fake romance but it's also a sports romance. The combination of the two is genius. It works so well. As a football (yes, I do mean American Football) fan I loved the sports aspect of the story, I really enjoyed the fact that the sport wasn't an afterthought, it played a part in the story, it's not just a sports romance because the character happens to be a football player. I love that it's all told from Cooper's POV.

I loved these characters. All of them. I'm looking forward to stories from a few of Cooper's teammates in the future... I hope. Pretty please!
Violet was awesome! I just loved her so much. She was smart and funny. Independent and feisty. She was also sweet and able to hold her own in a room full of football players. Vi had such a big heart. I wanna be her friend.
Cooper... swoon! Ok, so I am completely in love with Cooper. He was a sweetheart. His heart was nearly always in the right place and he had so much love to give, whether it be to Vi, or his time at the hospital, he was such a good guy. He was also funny and charming, and a damn fine football player. Sure, I wanted to slap him upside the head a time or two, but mainly I just wanted to hug him... among other erm, fun activities lol.

I just adored the progression of Cooper and Violet's relationship. Watching them go from friends that may have had an inappropriate thought or two, to realising they were in love. It was beautiful. The sexual tension between the characters was palpable and gave the story an edge. I really enjoy that Lauren never fills her books with unnecessary sex scenes, they always make sense to the story and the same happens with this book, it's about half-way, maybe more before anything sexual happens and then the way it was done was utter perfection and I loved it, and of course, once the sexy times start your earphones are at risk of melting.

This book is performed superbly by Zachary Webber. He's always so entertaining and this book was no different. Zachary's performance was wonderful, he hits the comedic moments so perfectly, I can't help but laugh out loud and his delivery of the emotional parts of the story are so heartfelt, I even got a little emotional myself. I really don't think there is an emotion he cannot deliver on. Let's not forget the sexy times, sheesh, talk about panty-melting. The production was smooth, with no issues at all, I really enjoyed the cheering sound effects at the beginning and end of the book.

This is a short, cute vampire story. When I say cute, I don't mean that in a bad way. I love the way Nicole Garcia sets the scene and draws the listener into the story. The story is told from Caressa's POV. It's what I like to call a true vampire story, the vampire is strong and doesn't go out in the sun for fear of death. I loved the feelings expressed in this book and the tension. The characters are appealing and entertaining. Noah was a sweetheart that you couldn't help but swoon over. I really liked Caressa, the way she didn't want to hurt Noah but couldn't stay away. It's a short story so there isn't a whole lot of sex but what there is works really well with the storyline and is fun and sexy.

This duet narration is done to perfection by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. Their performances are spot on and widely entertaining, the way they both expressed the tension within the story really stood out. The production is smooth with no issues.

OMG! Why has it taken so long for me to listen to this book? Why has nobody been talking about it? Ok, that's a lie, I've seen a bunch of people talk about it, but I needed the time to dive in, and boy did I. I already have the others lined up. It is hilarious. I'm talking laugh out loud, so people think you're weird, funny. And dirty, so dirty.

I loved Jana Aston's writing, it was fun and intelligent and kept my headphones glued to my ears for the entire audiobook. No way could I have stopped it. It was incredibly entertaining. I did get a little frustrated with the story in regard to Gina, I kept hoping Luke would walk in on her being evil and set her right. But Jana knew what she was doing, and all worked out well in the end and I was happy it played out the way it did.

The characters were so fun, I hope some of them get there on stories too. Apart from Gina, she was a bitch!
I loved Sophie, she was feisty but sweet, and smart. She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. She had some hang-ups due to her life which was understandable, and I really felt for her at times. I really wanted her to just punch Gina, but as it turns out, that wasn't necessary. Sophie handled it the best.
And Luke, sigh, he was so dreamy. He could be my doctor any day! I loved that he tried to fight how he was feeling but in the end just couldn't. Then his dominant side came out to play and it was perfect.

I really liked the progression of Luke and Sophie's relationship. It was sweet and hilarious. I did shout at my phone on a couple of occasions, why won't Luke just tell Sophie what the deal with Gina is? But Sophie is a smart cookie, so it was easy to forgive him. The sexy times will have your headphones melting, I kid you not, it's so dirty but so very good. Luke's arse obsession was cute and hilarious.

Erin Mallon is fantastic in this book. She always blows me away, but this one is outstanding. Her male voices are wonderful, seriously, I'm talking panty-melting sexy male voice. You'll check your app to make sure audible didn't forget to list the male narrator. It's so distinct. She was perfect for the emotional moment too, she really conveys how the character is feeling and does it incredibly well that you're so fully immersed in the story. The production was smooth with no issues.

Teenage friends form a rock band called Tempest and get themselves a record deal. Fast forward a couple of years and they're the opening act on a US tour. Lace used to be with the band and in a relationship with the lead singer, after a bad situation she re-joins them on the road and rekindles her old relationship with lead singer, War. Only problem, she's in love with the lead guitarist and has been since she was five. He loves her too but out of loyalty to his friend won't cross that line. But what happens when your feelings become too much, and you can't fight how you feel anymore? Can love overcome loyalty?

I struggled with rating this book. The book is good but it's very gritty, showing the dark side of rock and roll. I have more light-hearted tastes usually. With that being said it is written well and does highlight a very serious issue. I really liked Michelle Mankin's style of writing, she grabs the reader's attention and immerses them in the lives of these characters where you want to know what happen in the past, or what is going to happen next. I like the flashes to the past, it gave more insight into the characters and was very easy to follow. I'll definitely be listening to the next in the series.

I didn't find many of the characters that likeable which I think is why I'm struggling, I like to have someone to root for, a couple to want to end up together, and honestly, I loved Bryan, but I wanted him to find someone else. I didn't realise until well into the book how young the characters actually are. Lace was the character with the most development and progression through the book and I must say my opinion changed throughout. I wanted to slap her so many times. I like strong women in my books and until the last hour or so, she just wasn't. But she does come through in the end and I did end up liking her and was happy that she made the changes she made. She just seemed to lack a backbone. War was an arse, he supposedly cared about Lace but continued to tempt her with drugs that he knew she didn't want. He was incredibly selfish and seemed more intent to keep Lace as a possession rather than the love of his life. Bryan aka Bullet was a redeeming character, I really liked him and felt bad for him. He was so obviously in love with her but his misguided loyalty to War had him all over the place.

Kai and Wen were amazing with this duet narration. They had to perform some very difficult scenes and did so with conviction and beauty. It was wonderful to listen to. Hearing them both perform children was endearing. The production was done really well with several different sound effects, I loved the instrumental music during the songs, although on one I felt the music drowned out Kai's voice but maybe that was intentional. At the end of the book are some facts of drug use which I felt was an excellent inclusion.

Ok, I loved this book, the first book I liked but I truly loved this installment. I messaged Nicole Garcia once I was finished because I had so many questions - I need more! Nicole has a wonderful talent for writing books that immerse the listener into the story and keep them riveted. This book is told from Gia's POV and focuses more on the feelings Gia has and she felt very human in her thought process which made me love her more. Rhett was such a sweetheart and I loved his take charge attitude. The sexy times work well within the storyline and are fun and sexy. This book has some twists that add to the appeal of the book and leave you wanting more.

This duet narration is done superbly. I just love the inflections both Kai and Wen use to differentiate between emotions and characters. The emotions conveyed in this story and the way they were performed was just wonderful. The production is well done with no issues.

So, I've had this book in my TBR for a while, and I was content for it to sit there. You know how it goes, too many books and not enough time. When I scored a ticket to the Four Brits Book Signing in Manchester, England this past weekend I wanted to have at least started something by LJ Shen when I met her, so I loaded up the audiobook and set to it. Oh, My God!!! Why did it take me so long? Why didn't anyone harass me about reading this book? I love how LJ Shen is able to make me fall in love with such an a-hole and she did it while he was still being a jerk! Normally I want that guy to suffer, and he does suffer but the way she has written this book just made me fall in love. I loved her style and cannot wait to read about the other Hot-Holes.

This is a story that will have you questioning everything. Why is he doing this? Why'd he say that? Why doesn't someone do something? Why are they letting this happen? What is going on? Why doesn't she punch him in the balls? And you will love having those questions and it'll keep you guessing throughout the book. If you love bad boy stories this one is a must read/ listen.

This book is full of characters that are interesting, and you want to know more about. The Hot-Holes for example, I need all of their stories. And Rosie's, I like her and think her book will be awesome.
Vicious is an a-hole but I loved him. He had sweet moments, especially the more you find out about him and the things he did and why. He's such a ‘bad boy' but he has heart and after everything he's experienced you can understand it. Here's what I love about this book, he's still a bad boy at the end, he doesn't change as much as he opens himself up to love. I liked that, it was a different change of pace to most books.

I really like Emilia, she didn't take his crap. She worked hard for her family and did what needed to be done, even if that meant walking away from everything. She was a strong woman and we all know how much I love those.

Their relationship was one of turmoil to say the least. They fought, and they loved, and it was fun to listen and see the twists and turns of their relationship and where their lives took them. They had some very steamy moments that'll heat up your kindle, they were placed well and helped give a little more insight into these characters and their feelings.

I really enjoyed the narration, I thought it worked well as a dual narration and both Savannah Peachwood and Christian Rummel were wonderful. Savannah's performance of Emilia was fantastic, I loved how she conveyed her emotions. Christian's performance of Vicious was riveting, he played the bully with a sweet-side incredibly well. I will definitely be looking for more of their work in the future. The production was smooth with no issues.

I love these 1,001 Dark Night novellas, they allow readers to find new authors that they might not have read or even heard of before and give existing readers the chance to see character stories that may never have come to light. When I heard CD Reiss was joining the family I was super excited, having read/ listened to a bunch of her books she is an automatic one-click for me and this book was no different. If you read my review of King of Code you know how much I adored that audiobook, the whole thing was amazing, Raven Crosby was a character in the book and she intrigued me; a woman in a man's world that is sharp and witty and in control? – heck yeah, I liked her! So finding out she was getting her own book, even a novella was like catnip to this reader... if I was a cat. (Ok, not the best analogy, but whatever, you know what I mean!)

In the past, I've read novellas and it's felt rushed and that parts were missing, and it kinda left me feeling a little meh about the whole thing. This does not happen with this book, it really feels like each chapter, each sentence, each word had to earn their keep. Although it's a novella it's a complete story and you never get the feeling like you are missing out on key elements of the story. I love that CD never dumbs things down for her readers, she treats them as intelligent people... because we are. If you read King of Code, you'll know that book contained some technical talk and that is included in this novella, although not to the same extent and it doesn't interfere with the flow of the story, not one little bit. It's an office romance that you're going to want to get your hands on and enjoy to the fullest. I usually get hit with a bunch of emotions when I'm reading or listening to a CD Reiss book and I gotta say, that happened again. I laughed out loud at some parts, swooned in others and yeah because she knows how to get to my hardened heart I even shed a couple of tears.

I adored these characters, well, apart from Marie, she's a bitch... but you'll have to read the book to find out why I think that. Raven is completely awesome, I love her so much. She's smart, and sexy and kicks arse. She totally held her own when dealing with Roman and I loved that, she didn't cower to him when she thought he had the upper-hand. Roman, sigh, he's so dreamy. He knew what he wanted and set out to get it, whether that was the smart decision or not. He just couldn't resist. He had such a sweet side to him that I wasn't expecting. Which was such a pleasant surprise. He's also dirty, so you know I loved that about him. I may have swooned on a number of occasions.

I loved the progress of Roman and Raven's relationship. How the tension was so palpable, but they really tried to fight it... well, Raven did, at least. But ultimately, they couldn't resist each other. I really liked that although it's an office romance nothing much actually happens at the office, they're completely professional until they leave the building and then it's on, and boy is it on! Talk about steaming up a kindle, the sexy times were downright SEXY! Yes, I did need to use full capitalisation for that word, that's how smoking hot it is. It's not only going to make you hot under the collar but scorch that collar to high heaven. If you've read past reviews you'll know I love banter between the characters, especially the couple and we get that with this book too. Which I was grateful for and it really gave Raven and Roman that edge of will they or won't they in the beginning. It also allowed the reader to envision the friendship that bloomed as their feelings developed and that for me was awesome.

Side-note: You don't have to read King of Code to read this book, it's a complete standalone... but, but, but why wouldn't you read it? It's freaking awesome! Go meet Taylor and Harper!
Side-note 2: I am also super excited to listen to the audiobook. I'm itching to find out who the narrator(s) are going to be. I hope we're not kept waiting too long. And, of course, I'll be reviewing the heck out of that when the time comes.

I am loving this series, I say series but they're standalones. You definitely don't need to have read Record of Wrongs to fully enjoy this book. I read that Sharon Kay planned on releasing three books – firstly, who is the next book about? A girl has to know! Secondly, I don't think three is going to be enough. Please, please, please give me more. Sharon has a way of writing that just grabs you and immerses you into the story. You feel the emotions the characters feel, you get invested in their story and you anxiously keep turning the pages to see what happens next.

This is a beautiful story that I think everyone should read. Both Shane and Becca have experienced severe loss, this is their story of finding a little light in the dark and moving on. Putting past mistakes behind them and helping each other to deal with past events. It's raw, it's beautiful and you're going to want to spend some time visiting with them. This book gives you the opportunity as a reader to view depression from various viewpoints and I think it's so important to give you an understanding of how it can change a person without them really knowing it or why. It's hard for both the person and the family. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned in equal measure. This book also includes a little intrigue and I wasn't surprised by the eventual outcome, for me, it could only have been one person.

Shane Marlow is one heck of a guy. Ok, I'll admit it, I fell a little bit in love with him. I liked him in Record of Wrongs and was looking forward to his story and it didn't disappoint. He was the perfect tortured hero. He was sweet, yet commanding. Charming and sexy. He had his demons and worked hard to hide them. Of course, Becca was able to climb his walls and get into his head and his heart to help him heal.
Becca Gables was quite the woman. I loved that although she was dealing with a lot she went out on a limb and agreed to a date with Shane. He really was the best person to help her deal with her losses and move on with her life. Yes, she made a mistake, but that guilt was eating her up inside. Shane gave her the boost to start to forgive herself.
We need to take a moment to talk about Denver. He was the star of the show for sure. I just adored him. Every scene he was in was cleverly done and written beautifully.

I loved that this book included dates, I don't remember the last book I read that actually had the couple going on dates. It was such a wonderful way to experience the growth of their relationship. The attraction between the two of them was palpable from the moment they met but it was nice to watch that become something more, where neither of them could fight it. The sexy time scenes were smoking and fit really well within the storyline. You might want to take a cold shower later on. I loved that there wasn't any conflict between the two of them, they fell hard for each other and made the relationship work.

This is one of those books that is hard for me to review. I've been staring at a blank page for hours wondering how I should word this, how much detail to give. I'm going to start by saying that I love L.J. Shen's writing, I love how she isn't afraid to get down and dirty with characters and experiences. It's refreshing and a pleasure to read. Her writing flows so beautifully and she's the queen of arseholes that you can't help but fall in love with. However, as with life, we all experience and interpret things differently, for me, there is one subject that I struggle with and try to avoid. This book was built around that subject and for me, it's just not my thing. It's not particularly graphic, and for some people, it wouldn't affect them at all, but for me, it's not even about the graphic nature but more an emotional one, and this book has that in spades. It actually made me sit and cry and chat with my husband and he asked a very good question, ‘why are you still reading it?' And the answer is simple, because Shen's writing is powerful and captivating, had it been a different author I'd probably have thrown my hands up and said, ‘I'm out!' But I wanted to finish it, Shen put a lot of time and effort into writing it, so I partly felt that I owed it to her to finish, and partly, because I loved Bane and Jesse, I wanted to see Jesse get her Happily Ever After, no, wanted isn't right, I needed her to get her HEA.

The story itself is great and if it involved any other subject I think it would get five stars from me. I loved the back and forth between Bane and Jesse, seeing Bane falling under this woman's spell and knowing he didn't stand a chance and that all his bravado, was just that, a front, he was such a sweet guy, an arsehole, but a sweetheart with it, he felt deeply and that made him special. Jesse, damn, that girl was so strong, stronger than she or anyone ever realised and watching her break out of her bonds and be free and start living again and building relationships, it was beautiful to witness. This book also gave you many characters to hate, and I do mean hate, I sat here wanting to throat-punch them, as well as other less friendly things, and I may have shouted at my kindle more than once making both my husband and the dog jump, I guess shouting ‘fucking bitch' at your kindle is frowned upon. Pam had me so filled with rage that I just couldn't contain my anger at her. The story also has a mysterious element to it, I had my suspicions, but it was an interesting twist.

Overall this is a great book filled with emotion and suspense. It will touch you in ways other L.J. Shen books haven't. It's not an easy read. It's a story of finding love and fighting your demons. The princess doesn't need the prince in this story, but she wants him. And he's there, just in case.

Oh, My God!!!! Why has it taken me so long to dive into this series? And why has nobody been hitting me over the head demanding I read or listen to it? My god, people! I am in love with this book. The humour, the setting, and the trope. It was all perfect. One of my favourite books of 2017! I'll admit I was a little worried; an American setting her books in England, pfft, I've experienced that before and regretted it but what Amy Daws does is amazing, she's done her homework! At no point did I sit there and think ‘clearly this has been written by an American.' I now need to dive into the other books. I need the twins' stories, and Violet's. And what about Gareth? I want them all.

Amy's writing is so engaging. She creates characters that you want to spend time with. I zoomed through this book because I just couldn't bring myself to hit pause. I finished it at 6.30am, I literally spent the night with these characters because I couldn't pull myself away. That to me is the mark of an excellent book. This story was so incredibly entertaining. I laughed, I cried, and yes, I swooned too. It's been a couple of days, and I am still thinking about it and talking about it. I'm sure my book buddies are fed up of me!

This book is filled with characters that you'll love, as mentioned above, I need to go back and listen to the other books because I need more time and more info about the Harris family.
Booker is a complete sweetheart, who at times, I wanted to punch in the balls, just because, he was so frustrating. We knew how he felt but he just needed a little push. He had great banter with his brothers, but you also felt sorry for him, being younger he never really stood his ground, until he did, and I have to say I was cheering him on!
I adored Poppy, she was crazy – in a good way, so funny. I loved her little eccentric ways, the singing the end of sentences was cute and fit her so well. I usually don't enjoy female characters as much as the male ones, but Poppy was so awesome, I loved her just as much as Booker. She dealt with a number of different issues in the book and I thought she handled them gracefully. (For example, she didn't punch Booker in the balls!). Poppy for the win!

I loved the friends to lovers theme of this book. The banter between Booker and Poppy was a highlight for me. A true friendship. I really enjoyed listening to their story unfold and how their friendship turned into something more. How they tried to fight it, well, Booker, at least. Thankfully he was able to get with the programme and make us all happy. It was sweet and sexy. The sexy times were very well written and played a pivotal role in the story. Although it's a sports romance there isn't a lot of sport in it, so if that has you on the fence, jump on over, it'll be worth it, I promise.

This duet narration was fantastic. You really felt a part of the story, like you were truly experiencing it. It's the first time I've heard anything by either narrator and they blew me away. The inflections and accents used to differentiate between the characters were outstanding, and the way both of them performed the emotional moments were wonderful and may have caused a few tears. The sexy times were performed brilliantly, and well, sexily. Charlotte Cole was fabulous as Poppy, she really encompassed this character, and I especially loved the inclusion of the singing. Will M Watt was so charming as Booker (I may have swooned) and really hit the emotional moments so perfectly. He also did a fabulous Scottish accent that I think will have the American listenership swooning all over the place. The production was smooth with no issues.

Dylan is looking for love and turns to the internet because all good things have happened to him on and because of, the web. He sets up an online dating profile against everybody's advice. Enter Evie, she's a matchmaker and friends with Dylan's sister, she feels it's her duty to stop him from making a grave mistake and volunteers to find him a match. But what happens when they both start to develop feelings...for each other?

I feel like Lauren Blakely can do no wrong. Every book she writes I just fall in love with and although this is a novella, so short by design, it is still long enough for me to fall in love. Lauren's writing is smooth and entertaining, I always find myself chuckling at random moments and with just cause, but, it's also filled with heart. Only Lauren could manage to throw a surprising twist in the mix at the end that made the listener sit back and say ‘Yes! That makes so much sense.' Easily, a one sitting audiobook.

This was such a sweet story. I fell in love with Dylan and Evie early on. We all know how I love my sexy geeks and Dylan was definitely a sexy geek! I couldn't help but fall for him. He also had a really sweet disposition that was very endearing. Evie was feisty but sweet, which I love. The cameos/ mentions from other books was a nice touch and not always obvious, especially if you go through a lot of books in a week. I found myself having a few aha moments.

The relationship between Dylan and Evie was cute to watch unfold, especially as they both tried to fight it. The banter between them was just perfect, it gave the relationship that real feeling to it. You could picture them as a couple from the get-go. The spark they had was sizzling and will make you a little hot under the collar.

The dual narration worked really well. This is the first performance I've listened to by both Grace Grant and Jesse Metcalfe, and in honesty, I wasn't sure whether I was going to enjoy it. Thankfully, it's a beautiful performance of a lovely book. I liked the tone of Grace's voice and she really gave life and emotion to Evie. Her male characterisations were fantastic too. The switch between male and female characters was smooth. I know I have other audiobooks waiting in the wings with Grace's name on and now I'm more excited than ever to listen to them. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a fan of celebrity narrations, however, Jesse was great, as I was listening I felt he really got a feel for Dylan and gave him a burst of life. The production is smooth and although no major issues, at the end of chapter 13 two small lines repeat.

Layla Hagen never ceases to impress me with her writing talent. This series hit me with all the feels for so many reasons. It makes me laugh, cry and, swoon in equal measure. Just when I think she's covered every trope and every subplot possible she comes back and hits me with another. There is a subject in this book which is very close to my heart and although I felt to was too fast (that's just because of my personal experience and I know I'm being vague but no spoilers! – but it's the epilogue so when you read it feel free to send me a message to discuss), the rest was just perfect and highlights the subject very well.

Layla, Layla, Layla. Every time I read another Bennett book I think it's the best yet. I've gone through so many book boyfriends with this series that I'm starting to worry about myself. Daniel was no exception. I just adored him, Blake is still in the lead though, but his twin is right behind him. Those party brothers sure turned out well. I haven't read many second chance romance books but after this one maybe I need to start. Even if that trope isn't your thing, I think you'll like this book. Although the book is a standalone and you can dive right in with Daniel and Caroline's story I'd recommend starting at the beginning because this is a wonderful series with interconnecting characters and you're going to want each siblings story. Bring on Summer's!!!!!

Caroline Dunne we've seen here and there in the other books and I was always intrigued by her. She was obviously still in love with Daniel, but I always assumed the feeling wasn't mutual. Her life has changed since they were together, and she has worries she didn't have before. I enjoyed that aspect of the story and it gave her character that bit of internal conflict. I could relate to Caroline more than most of the female characters in this series. Her concerns about bringing up a certain issue she has hits very close to home. I felt a real connection to her and must admit I shed a few tears on her behalf.
Daniel Bennett hasn't really played that big of a part in the other books, except his incident in Your Alluring Love, so although I was excited to read his book I also didn't know what to expect. Being Blake's twin, I had high hopes though...and he's a Bennett! Gah! He is a total sweetheart. The way he was with Caroline, was just adorable, he had those cheeky yet charming traits down pat. He felt very British to me. Maybe it was some of the phrases he used, I dunno, but it suited his character well.

I adored their relationship so much. The way they knew each other but were also learning about each other. The things that had changed. The respect they had for one another was beautiful to witness and how they didn't push the other and gave themselves the right to be happy again. There was no big break up like in a lot of romances, they knew what they wanted and what they'd be losing so they worked at it. That's not to say they didn't have any conflict to contend with, just that it wasn't blown up, one of my pet peeves in romance fiction is lack of communication and thankfully that isn't the case with this book – I didn't have to shout at the characters. It was simply beautiful. The sex scenes were sexy as f*** and played such an important role in the story that it never felt like too much or misplaced. And boy, did they make up for lost time in the bedroom department. Talk about steaming up my kindle. When Caroline finally tells Daniel about the secret she has I was incredibly emotional and if I didn't like Daniel before, his reaction would have made me fall madly in love with him. It's a testament to Layla Hagen's skill that she can evoke such reactions from her readers.

S.C. Daiko has written a very sexy story about a polyamorous relationship and handles it brilliantly, showcasing how beautiful a relationship can be, and the subject of love is love regardless of who is doing the loving. I very much loved that about this book. Eleri is sweet and innocent, Luke and Gabe are not innocent, but they are sweet. I loved their relationship with each other. The story was heart-warming and attention-grabbing. It had me swooning in parts, laughing out loud and sighing. My only thing about the story that I sort of struggled with was towards the end when something happens involving the children and I didn't feel like Gabe and Luke's reactions were strong enough. I guess I wanted anger and emotion or something and it just lacked it for me. Of course, as always, that's just personal taste.

This book is full of characters that you'll just fall in love with. They're each so different but so charming. The way Gabe and Luke know each other so well and their opposite attracts appeal is very endearing.
Luke is a sweetheart, to everyone. You know from the get-go that he's interested in Eleri but he controls himself, the love he has for Gabe just shines through. He is a light-hearted guy that likes to enjoy himself. Even his job is fun. He dominant but not as much as Gabe. He had me chuckling more than once in this book.
I loved Gabe so much. He's the upper-class British gent that is pretty stern, he works for a law firm and he has his ways and likes it, he's not looking for a change and is the more dominant of the two men. But seeing the change in him is wonderful to experience as he becomes accustomed to letting a woman into his life and heart.
Eleri is such a sweet girl, so innocent. Her attraction to Gabe and Luke is instant but she tries to hide it and not let it affect her job. I think she was also a very brave woman and we don't see that nearly enough. She goes through quite the transition in this book and it is lovely to watch that change from sweet girl to sexual woman.
The children are so freaking adorable, I just loved them. As a former nanny, this story called to me...no, before you ask nothing like this ever happened to me, sheesh, get your mind out of the gutter! The kids really added another layer to this story, a sweet layer that I think worked really well.

So, this book contains a lot of sex, and I do mean a lot. I'm talking MM, MMF, and MFM. If that isn't your thing, you probably won't like this book and would be better off passing it by. The scenes are written incredibly well and will definitely make you hot under the collar, especially with Hugo in your ears. I spent a fair about of this book blushing, I kid you not. However, it felt very organic to the characters and the story.

This was my first listen from Hugo Wylde and I don't think it will be my last. The narration was enjoyable. He really brought these characters to life. I liked Luke and Gabe and he performed them wonderfully. Hugo blew me away with his performance of Eleri. The range of voices and accents in this book is handled really well and each character sounded unique, I never struggled to wonder who was being performed. Hugo performed upper-class British, Welsh, Yorkshire and middle-class British with ease. The overall production was well done. One small line repeats once in chapter 18 and the chapter headers for Gabe seemed more drawn out than necessary, especially as it was only in the chapter points and at no other time. The silence between chapters was longer than I'm used to, and I did keep checking at the beginning to see if my app had turned itself off but I did get used to it.

This review is going to be on the shorter side, not because I don't have a lot to say about it, but because I don't want to write a review full of spoilers and with a number of twists and turns in this book, I would be hard-pressed not to say something spoilery.

MK Gibson has written a book that is not only funny and action-packed but also endearing. This book was hilarious, I don't remember the last time I laughed this much, and I'm talking laugh of loud in public and getting weird looks sort of laughing. If you like superhero books/ movies etc, I think you'll like this book, the character of Jackson talks to the listener for the entire book (4th wall breaking at its finest), think Deadpool and it works. It works really well, I think the book wouldn't have been half as funny without it. Even the chapter headings are humorous. It has a fantasy feel to it, an epic adventure that just grabs the listener's attention and doesn't let go. It even has a little romance... yes, I said it, and it's true. The chapters are short. The pop culture references throughout the book were entertaining.
Maybe you're looking at the cover right now and thinking ‘meh, not my thing' well, shush but I thought the same thing, it wasn't until I listened to the sample and read the synopsis that I was hooked...so give them a shot before counting this book out.

I love the characters in this book. Jackson, of course, was hilarious and I even found myself laughing at things I ordinarily wouldn't have found funny. His team of heroes was an unlikely bunch which made them all the more interesting, you never know what angle they were working on or if they would find out the truth and abandon Jack. The reveal towards the end was shocking and a character steps up that you'll never see coming as the evil lord that Jackson must face.

I've listened to many Jeffrey Kafer performances and this one really blew me away. His comedic timing was on the mark and the vocal fluctuations really emphasised some key moments. Sometimes with the amount of characters a book like this has, it's hard to keep track of who is who but that wasn't the case with this performance, each character was uniquely performed. Kafer never fails to entertain but I think this performance was something special. The overall production was smooth with no issues that I noted.

Sigh, I love baby stories. They always have so many different emotions and options on where the story can go. Lauren Blakely does this trope so perfectly, I love the way she writes, Lauren's books are always funny, smart and emotional. She immerses the reader into the world of the characters and you forget where you are as you delve deeper into the story. I fell in love with this story and the characters. I went through so many emotions listening to it. I laughed, I cried and I cheered.

Ryder is such a sweetheart, I loved his interactions and mindset. Watching him overcome his past and open himself up to Nicole was beautiful to experience. It's not often you get to experience that much personal growth in a character and it was refreshing. He's sexy, cocky and vulnerable, he stole my heart.
I loved Nicole she's a woman that knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go get it. She's strong and independent. She's surrounded herself with people that care and support her. She's sassy and I couldn't help but love her.

The relationship between these two characters was fun. I loved the banter, which we experience early on in the book and although their relationship changes the banter is still a huge part of it, and I loved that. Experiencing the changes in the relationship as they occurred with the couple but being privy to what each of them thought was enlightening and entertaining. The sex was steamy, oh yes, Ryder and Nicole will definitely leave you hot under the collar, the scenes play a vital role in the story and enhance the relationship between the two characters. The way this relationship progresses is beautiful to watch and the emotions throughout the last few chapters really embody this couple and bring tears to this listeners eyes.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are the perfect duo to narrate this dual POV. I loved their narration, they really brought all the feels to the forefront with this one. It might be one of my favourites. Sebastian York's performance of Ryder was outstanding, the moments when Ryder's vulnerability shone through was one of the highlights in this audiobook. Sebastian just nails it. Andi Arndt was the most wonderful person to bring Nicole to life, she performs the sassy, strong independent woman so perfectly.
They both have such excellent comedic timing and they delivered those moments so fantastically that it felt organic and not forced at all. But, they also hit all of those emotional moments with just as much power. It's beautiful to listen to.

I've been on a romantic comedy kick just lately, especially with this series and I was so overjoyed that another book was being released. It's a story of love. Simple as that. You will meet these characters and you'll instantly like them, shortly after you will be in love with them and the world they live in. As soon as I hit play on this book I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop listening until I had devoured every last second, and that's exactly what happened. I loved the wilderness aspect of this story, That's what these books do, they immerse you in them so fully that you feel like you are there, experiencing things with them. I loved that the epilogues tied everything up with a pretty bow and left me with a happy feeling of being complete.

Lauren Blakely writes the best characters. I loved Patrick. He's my favourite. He was such a sweetheart, I liked him when he was introduced in Joy Ride and was super excited to see him get a book. His friendship and banter with Max was fun and showed a different side to him, as opposed to the sexy sweetheart he is with Mia. His relationship with Zeus, his cat, was just the most adorable thing ever. I loved that he knew how he felt about Mia and wasn't scared of it, he wasn't scared to admit it – just about whether she was at the same place as he was, I thought that was really refreshing.

Mia is awesome. I think I identified with Mia the most, out of all of the female characters in this series. She's short, yes this is a thing, do you know how many female characters are considered short but really, they're not? (Sorry, I digress) She has two brothers that she adores. She's independent, knows her own mind and gets things done. What's not to like? Her interactions with Patrick were sweet and you could sense the chemistry from the get-go. I've always been drawn to strong female characters and I think she embodies that.

Zeus, come on, he had to get a mention. He was freaking adorable. I feel like he needs his own twitter account so he can keep us informed of his progress.

It was nice to have a little mention of the characters from the other books in the series and how their happily ever afters are progressing. With that being said, this book is a complete standalone, you don't need to read/ listen to the others for the little mentions to make sense. Personally, I think you should, because they're awesome but it's definitely not required.

The relationship between Patrick and Mia is such a sweet one. I loved that they started as friends with chemistry and that grew to something more and something neither of them could fight, nor wanted to. The fact that they were both on the same page about the relationship and how they felt but they didn't tell the other - both drove me insane and kept me listening and wanting to know where the story was going to go. Thankfully, they didn't keep me waiting too long, their attraction and love were just too strong to draw it out. The banter between the two of them was spot on and so full of sexual tension and innuendos that it made the sex scenes just perfect for this couple, not overdone or unnecessary, they felt very organic to Patrick and Mia and a part of their story.

When I was getting ready to listen to Hard Wood I thought about the review and wondered how I was going to manage to say something that I haven't already said about Sebastian York and figured it would be a struggle. Then I listened to it, oh man! It's typical Sebastian York goodness, with an extra flair I wasn't expecting. At the beginning and end of the book, there are some cool nature sound effects that I thought was a great addition to the overall feel of the book. Sebastian really has been the best choice for this series, but with that being said, I feel he really embodies Patrick, his performance is commanding yet sweet. He nails the sexiness like, well, come on, if you've heard any book narrated by Sebastian, you know the man can make a sex scene sexier and he delivers in that aspect here too, but it's the emotional scenes where he really excels. Did I mention this book has chapters from the cat, yes you read that right, Sebastian York narrated a cat and even meows, I don't remember the last time I laughed that much or that loud. It was pure comedic genius on both Lauren Blakely's part and on the delivery from Sebastian. Just when I think he can't surprise me anymore, this just came out of left field and I loved it.

Side-note: The book also contains a sample chapter from Most Valuable Playboy, narrated by Zachary Webber. If you've been on the fence about MVP this is the perfect opportunity to hear ZW's awesomeness and get a taste for the story.

Kendall Ryan really knows how to get into a reader's head and heart. And man, can she write a heck of a sex scene. I felt so many different emotions listening to this book. It's a day later and I'm still thinking about it, what happened, what could happen, how things are going to play out in the next book.

The sweet sexy librarian and the bad boy, you know I was going to love it, and I did. This book grabbed me from the first chapter and never let go. I had to listen to the book in one sitting because I had to know what was happening, who needs food or exercise when you are engrossed in a fantastic story? Not this girl! I did feel some of the details were a little repetitive at times, nothing major and it didn't really interfere with the story, just personal taste, I guess. I feel like book two is going to break me, in the best possible way. I'm stocking up on Kleenex just in case.

The characters in this story are really quite compelling. I've been thinking about this for a day or two now and I loved the interactions and how each character was so unique and not at all what you'd expect. I loved Emma, I thought she was a sweetheart. She'd been through hell but didn't let that dull her sparkle and her strength shone throughout the book. Yeah, she's a librarian, but Kendall didn't make her your typical librarian, which I loved, because what rulebook says they have to be sweet and innocent?
Gavin was such a complex character, he'd obviously experienced a lot of hurt in his life and now guards himself, to his own detriment. I just wanted him to open up to Emma and let her in. I may have shouted at him to tell her everything, that she'd understand. But when do characters ever do what I tell them? I liked the conflict he was going through, you get to experience that with him throughout the book, his head and heart pulling him in different directions.

The relationship between Gavin and Emma gave me whiplash, seriously, I wanted to take that man by the.... ok, I'll take a breath and calm myself. He drove me a little crazy. He'd be so sweet one moment and the next he'd be a total jerk. I felt so bad for Emma, but at the same time, I was getting frustrated because she kept going back, although, he is kinda irresistible, so it makes sense. The chemistry between Gavin and Emma was undeniable and I think that is why even though Cooper was amazing, I was rooting for Gavin. You can't fight against that sort of attraction. With that being said I am so excited to get the next book and see where the story leads, I hope that things can be resolved because they are explosive together and I'm a sucker for a happily ever after.

Both narrator voices complemented each other and worked perfectly together for the story. I'll definitely be seeking out their combo in the future.
This was my first audiobook narrated by Megan Tusing and I really enjoyed her performance, on a couple of occasions it sounded like the characters had a southern drawl, but it was a kind of blink and you miss it sort of moment, enough to warrant a mention but not enough to impact the overall performance or knock it down a star. The switch between male and female voices was smooth and each voice was distinct. Megan was perfect for Emma; a sweet but commanding performance. I am really looking forward to listening to more from Megan.

This was not my first experience with Zachary Webber, that man has skill, I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. He narrates the POV chapters for both Gavin and Cooper. When I first realised that was going to happen I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it; if it's another person, it needs another voice, right? Nope. Webber is that good that it didn't require another narrator. Each character is so distinct and he really gives life to each one. His performance of Gavin was my favourite, he has that commanding tone to his voice that suited the character perfectly.
