I'm gonna keep this short because I'm way late on this series.
Heir of Fire introduced characters that I absolutely loved!
I love Rowan! Need I say more?
I love Calaena. I love seeing her progress, her character development. I love seeing her claim who she is.
I love the banter and interaction between Calaena and Rowan.
Their chemistry is 🤌🏼
Abraxos. He needs to be treasured 🥹
Aedion. I need to see more of him. Because that loyalty? 👏🏼
Dorian. I just really need him to be happy 🥺
I cannot wait for Aelin to rattle the damn stars!
“Is there anything better than two weeks off with nothing to except read books? The answer is, most definitely, no.”
“I know just what I need to distract myself from real life.Books.”
“It's fun for me to share my love of reading and book collecting, but the biggest benefit is finding new online friends I can geek out with.”
“hey let's be besties”.
“There's nothing I love more than giving someone the perfect recommendation and introducing them to a story that surprises and delights in a way they never saw coming.”
A second chance romance with a little bit of spice!
"Today, Graeden has come to unleash my monster - whatever it is. Oh, flaming nights, I hope it isn't a unicorn.”
4 star because of the pacing.
I had a hard time getting into this book. It started out slow, then it got interesting, it went slow again.
Well of Eida is told in Ari's POV. Betrayed by her bethrothed she is thrust into another realm, Eida..
Where the fallen fights to death with the seeker.
I enjoyed the plot. I love Graeden, and surprisingly I also like Tib even though he was a little suspicious.
“Sometimes belief is the strongest power of all.”
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I never thought I would love stalker romance and here I am.
“There are many people in this world who would love nothing more than to clip your wings. Stop doing it for them. Soar instead.”
“Live. Burn. And never, ever, let them dim your fucking light.”
“There is no deserve when it comes to love. There are no condition or stipulation. You just love.”
⚠️ As always, please check TW because this book is dark ⚠️
It did take awhile for the story to grow on me, but, I think it's because it isn't my usual read. I enjoyed this short, cozy fantasy read. It's got human, changeling, kelpies, and toads.
Thornhedge is warm, innocent-ish? The tone is innocent with a twist. It's a nice break between heavy epic fantasy, if fantasy is your genre.
SJM has me jumping ships all the time. I'm a bit sad with the close door, BUT, it is YA. I enjoyed the political intrigue. The chemistry. She's got chemistry with both of them.
I will always have a soft heart toward Dorian.
As for Chaol. I love and dislike him. He really isn't too bad.
Aelin. I just love her character so much.
Mort. He is the life in this book.
That ending. Wow.
I love Addy! She's probably my favorite character in the book.
Tyr, we have much to discuss my dude. And I am so so happy that you found your love.
Ana, we also have some things to discuss. Like, why not ask for help? You have help! Which is why I am happy for this character development towards the end.
The forbidden romance is strong with this one that there's a “miscommunication” trope. It's not really miscommunication, just didn't say what I really feel kind of way.
I enjoyed seeing Asterin and Sesto even for a moment.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and learn more about this world.
"It's impossible to go through life without hurting the ones you love. Hurt is inevitable. Harming isn't"
Courting War is told by Kellyn and Theodra's POV. We get to see their struggles and how they overcome these throughout the book.
Theodora - Goddess of War, turned human, now a really pissed off ex-goddess of war. Thee is a lonely, heartbroken, bitter ex goddess who's got a lot of trauma and has let this said trauma consumed her. She has the most character development that I love and frankly, I quite enjoyed all sides of her. I enjoyed her inner dialogue the most and her snarky responses.
Kellyn - talks in grunts (he really grunts a lot lol), has an “affliction”, “arrogant”, and HOT AF (it's ungodly). I feel for him. He would rather be known as the arrogant heir than to have his “affliction” be known to the people, but, one thing about him is that he is loyal through and through and kind hearted.
“Did he only know how to grunt? It was like his primary language was grunts, Theodic his second and the common tongue his third.”

I AM HERE FOR THAT!

“Courage of the heart is very rare. Let it guide you.”
Working my way through ToG series. The more I read, the mysterious it gets. I have some many questions.
The angst in this book was ridiculous. I admittedly admire both Chaol and Dorian. Celaena had chemistry with both 🫣 (don't come at me) and I absolutely love the trio.
My heart is just happy that she's found friendship around her.
It took me so long to start on this series and I don't know why.
This book was painful on so many different levels!
Should I have read it later? I don't know. Maybe?
I loved every single little novellas within the book and enjoyed the short chapters.
Now, onto the story, characters, book, etcetera.
The Assassin's Blade introduced Celaena Sardothien's character so well. From Adarlan's best assassin to a spoiled, girly, bratty self. We also get to experience her first love and that youth love, ugh I enjoyed every single bits of it. I love love her banter and chemistry with Sam.
I absolutely despise, hate, loathe the craphole Arobynn...
I'm leaving you all with one my favorite quote in the book
“I love you. And from today onward, I want to never be separated from you. Wherever you go, I go. Even if that means going to Hell itself, wherever you ares that's where I want to be. Forever.”
I would like to preface that I am team Zaven.
I love Zeke. I love Raven, individually, together.
I love the brotherly banter between Zeke and Luca, it's funny and something different.
There was SO MUCH revelation going on in this book that my mind was just like 🤯 can't process/processing so many things at once.
Also. I would just like to say, WTF?!? WTF ! Why ? That ending !
It took me a good bit to get into it, but, I really did enjoy this book. It was hilarious (specially the bickering), it was inspirational and there are certainly some surprising aspects.
“The point is, our only limitations are those we set for ourselves.”
“I was being transported through the air in a large canvas sack by a gargoyle, fleeing a crew of invading creatures, beside a black alicorn ridden by a vampire.”
HOT
NOT
lol
“𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔.”
𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴'𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 brought me out of my reading slump. I devoured this book in a day!! It was hot 🥵 and it was heartbreaking. I am warning you that I cried like a baby.
“𝑰 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒎 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒆. 𝑵𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔.”
Can I say that swooned over Jökull? Because I really did, I mean how freaking sweet is he?? I fell in love with Sunnëva and Jökull individually and together. Sunnëva is a fighter that had her soul so broken but was able to stitched if back up together. I love her loyalty and her love for her sibling. I love seeing her growth. Jökull is the beast that wasn't quite the beast in the story. He always gave Sunnëva the choice. I love his devotion and possessiveness towards her.
”𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅. 𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒕. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒅𝒐𝒎, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕. 𝑺𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒍.”
”𝑴𝒚 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅. 𝑬𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍.”
I 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗘 Sunnëva's father and got what he ultimately deserved.
I love/hate a character because he was ultimately the villain in the story, but, he was also there whenever she needed him (I guess, in a way).
Is this really a review or more of an emotional review rant?
I love Edriss, and she deserves all the happiness in the world. She's an independent woman who doesn't need a man in her life, but I am here for her happiness because she deserves it. I cried with her and for her. I wanted to protect this woman from heartache, dammit!
Lorcan. Lorry. I love you, BUT was I frustrated by you a lot? YES! I mean, come on, Lorry, it's clear as day what you want, and she wants. WHAT IS THE DEAL? I am just glad that you finally saw the LIGHT... HALLELUJAH! And it was at that moment, my mind went crazy because boi you have broken my girl Edriss's heart way too much.
“Beauty fades, but a good heart is forever.”“Touch her again, and I will end you.”“If it brings you joy, there's no reason you shouldn't read it”
Of curses and beauty had a different take on beauty and the beast retelling, and I enjoyed it. It follows 3 POVs: Elaine, Daric, and the witch.
In this book, Baxter is a horrid person. I honestly dislike despise him more than I do Gaston.
Alaine's mother is alive, and I didn't care much for her.
The villain you thought you knew is not what you would have expected her to be.
I adore Daric and Alaine. Daric, for his ability to see Alaine beyond her beauty. Alaine, for her tenacity and love for books. I love seeing Alaine's character grow and seeing her self-worth. I love that Daric was there to help her see that. I love that Daric gave Alaine the ability to choose.
Tropes that I enjoyed that you might too!
Forced proximity
Touch her and I will unalive you
Fairytale retelling
Found family
True love
Female empowerment
I have been looking forward to reading The Dalwick Demon since I read a little excerpt, and Ashley did not disappoint.
The Dalwick Demon is a sweet, short monster romance full of spice.
Iris only knew heartache in her short life and was forced to resort to other means to survive. As a penance for her supposed crime, she was sacrificed and thrown into the Dalwick Cave, where the Dalwick demon lived.
Selvyn, the Dalwick demon, is not who you expect him to be. I love his caring and sweet personality. His past was sad, man. Humans can be so cruel.
With that being said, that double peen was something else. Top it off with some tail play. SENSORY OVERLOAD (in a good way). The scenes were HOT AF. I am so happy with the way The Dalwick Demon ended.
I received an ARC of this book through Patreon, and I am so happy I subscribed because I needed this!
